Final project: in the eyes of an 8 year old

For my final project I would like to do a documentary on my little sister Abari. She is a sassy now 8 year old busy body. The goal of my documentary is to discover what it's like to live in the life of an 8 year old, what do they go through, how do they handle their issues and what excites them. I feel like my sister is a perfect candidate seeing as her birthday party is this Friday. Also because she is extremely accessible. I will film for 4-5 days then I'll take a day to edit. I plan to be done by tuseday and am excited to see how it turns out.

Snow on tha Bluff

Snow on tha Bluff was a documentary that went deep into the reality of running a drug cartel. It focused I'm Curtis Snow, a young father who runs a crack dealing empire. You venture into his business and how he runs everything while also getting a sense of how important family really is to him. The movie not only gives another perspective on the drug industry but it give what we call "the hood" a new identity and meaning. This movie not only acts as a cultural statement but it speaks to you in ways that you could never imagine. Who knew that the life of a crack addict from the hood could reach out to so many hearts and express a message deeper than I feel my generation can realize right now.

LOL

LOL is what I would like to call a ninja movie. Coming upon this film I didn't know what to expect, certainly not the work of art pictured before me. LOL staring ,Miley Cyrus , depicts the life of a teenage girl and her family. It shows the realistic struggles a teen and mother go through while excepting the fact that they both have some growing to do. The film did a great job in showing what actually goes on in the mind of a teenage girl, why we keep secrets, and exposes put fears. For me the movie was like watching a mirror of my own life. I truly enjoyed this and I think it's the perfect mother daughter film for anytime.

Documentary treatment

My documentary assess the trials and and journey of this years juniors as they work towards showcase. it analyzes and exposes the real emotions we go through while preparing for probably the most important shows of our lives. It will feature 2 to 4 students from each cluster at btwhspva. I will most likely key in on one person from each cluster. It will explain what showcase is and means in each cluster. It will also go deeper into how much it means for each individual. I plan on there being at least one person drop out seeing that there are different situations with everyone. I hope to finish sometimes around this year and hold a watch party for everyone to see.

X Men First class

Again another movie you can only watch once. I tend to love all x men movies but this one was sub par. I wouldn't watch it again. The story dragged on somewhat and was a bit anticlimactic. I expected to much more. But the costumes and make up in this movie couldn't have been better. They fit each character perfecting. Casting was also good although I think we all could agree we would have liked to see more of fan favorites wolverine, storm, and the original gang but I guess you can't have everything you want.

Wreck it Ralph Movie Review

Wreck it Ralph

I did not want to see this movie at first but I'm glad I did. Wreck It Ralph , a Disney cartoon about a Villain in a video game who wants to be a hero, is what I would call one of disney's better movies. The characters were all dynamic and the storyline really grabbed the attention of the viewers. Yes it is technically a 'kiddy' movie but I wails call this a movie for all ages.

Dark Knight Rises Movie Review

Dark Knight Rises

At firs glance this movie is one of excellence but watch it a second time and it's boring. The first time I say this movie I truly enjoyed it. Especially the graphics and stunts. But the second time and I found myself dosing off and my mind drifting. This is the type of movie you only watch once.

The Butler Movie review

The butler

This historical memoir is what I would consider a work of art. It told a story of an African American butler who made his way from the plantation to the White House. This movie posed not only as entertainment but as a statement of how far the African American race has come in such a short amount of time. Not only that, the screenplay was excellent. A movie such as this will live in through generations.

Real steel movie review

Real Steel

Most would think any movie with high Hackman has to be a hit right? Well this was proven false with real steel. Personally I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought i would have. I expected more from the movie and all I got was a mediocre film. The plot seemed a bit flat and the characters were extreme predictable. The one compliment u can give is on location and cinematography. Most of the shits had great balance and contrast. Good job Cinematography!

Movie Review pride and prejudice

Pride and Prejudice 2005

The world renown love affair between Elizabeth Bennett and Mr.Darcie has brought tears to the eyes of women across the globe for years. This is one of my personal favorites and I feel that's mostly because of the amazing script . Writer Deborah Meggach truly did justice to this Jane Austin Classic. So the costumes were fantastic thanks to designer Jacqueline Durran. As I said the movie is one of my favorites and I'd advise everyone to see it.

Les Misérables

This week I watches the famous musical Les Mis (2012). The newer version compared to the 1998 version brings a fresher musical style to this historic tale. Personally I prefer the 1998 version. The absence of the singing allows you to concentrate more so on the amazing storyline rather than Anna Hathaway's mystical voice. The singing and acting were great in the 2012 though. I just feel like the musical element took away from the natural beauty of the story.

Movie Review: Life of Pi

So I finally saw this amazing work of art two days ago and I LOVED IT. Life if Pi was one of the best movies I've ever seen. The way story was laid out was very creative and innovative. It kept me interested, the movie pulls you in and doesn't spit you out until it's over. I especially loved the use of color in the graphics. I really lived this movie certainly in my top 10.
